Make a splash in Australia’s largest pool

Australia's largest pool | One&Only Hayman Island, Great Barrier Reef

What’s blue, wobbly and the largest of its kind in the southern hemisphere? One&Only Hayman Island‘s jaw-dropping, super-sized swimming pool (sorry, we’re better at hotels than comedy). And, it just so happens that you can experience Australia’s largest swimming spot for less (when you book before 15 September 2015) with our equally magnificent hotel offer.

This shimmering blue expanse – the size of seven Olympic pools – is perhaps the only watery wonderland that can outshine the Great Barrier Reef (well, almost), set close by. Its impressive proportions and superlative setting have earned it a nomination in the Smith Hotel Awards 2015 too.

Criss-crossed by walkways and floating platforms – including one with a smaller, shallow pool-within-a-pool – this sprawling nigh-on lake offers collision-free swimming for both playful water babies and dedicated lap-clockers. No lifeguard supervision means parents will have to keep an eye on smaller Smiths, but it’s easily done when you can hire a cosy four-poster day-bed by the side and ask waiters to ferry fruity cocktails and gourmet snacks back and forth from the On the Rocks bar.

Families of up to four should check-in to a Two-Bedroom Pool Suite, so juniors can swim to their heart’s content, so pack your jellies, towel ponchos and armbands, and dive on in – the water’s lovely.
